Master Glenn – representative of Kwang Jang Nim (World Moo Duk Kwan Grand Master) visits and grades Leadership and Adult members!
It is a great honor to be accepted into the World Moo Duk Kwan, as the Masters, All personally appointed by the World Moo Duk Kwan Grand Master – Kwang Jang Nim H.C. Hwang (Son of the Founder KJN Hwang Kee) , take seriously their role of ‘Guardian’s of the Art’ of Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan.
As we move forward in our transition from Taekwondo, back to the “Mother Art” of Korea, the VERY FIRST Martial Art to be registered in Korea, we proudly hosted Master Glenn Sa Bom Nim (President – Australian Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation) and Master M Koina Sa Bom Nim as guests of Martial Arts SA (MASA) on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March. We conducted training seminars and gradings for White belts, colour belts and Dan Belts with a high standard put forward by all members. Senior students also worked hard as we introduced the Bo Staff seminar on Sunday afternoon before the Masters departed from Adelaide late in the day.
MASA Launches World Moo Duk Kwan in Adelaide, South Australia
Day one of our Transition to the Australian So Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation provided the opportunity for all in attendance to ‘do’ their best technique but also to display their courage to perform techniques new to them.
Masters Glenn and Koina applied great enthusiasm and encouragement and presented a larger in-site into the extent of The World Moo Duk Kwan and the Depth in The Art designed by it’s late founder KJN Hwang Kee.
On Saturday (21 March) many white and colour belts completed a strong display as they were successfully graded into the Australian Moo Duk Kwan family.
Sunday (22 March) was the Seniors chance to also grade in after they completed their 3 hour training seminar and a much deeper appreciation for the Art on Saturday, with over 40 Dan members working hard on the new material.
After an early morning session covering technique application in self defense and the grading, the Dan members moved onto an exciting afternoon of formal Bo Staff training while become more familiar with the correct value based training protocols.
Masters Glenn and Koina barely had time to land their feet on the ground before they were back on a plane Sunday afternoon. We at MASA extend our sincere thanks for their time and knowledge they so professionally passed to our members during the weekend, as well as thanks for the valuable time away from their families.
